What New Technology Does RWS Bring to Rainwater Collection?

You may have heard about the benefits of collecting and using rainwater for your household needs. However, with the rapid advancements in technology, the ways we can collect and utilize rainwater are now more efficient and effective than ever before. What new technology does RWS bring to rainwater collection? Discover a few of our offerings in this post, and see why you should invest in rainwater collection systems sooner rather than later.

The TXRWS Auto-Flush Controller

A standard rainwater collection system allows you to collect rainwater and then use it as you see fit. However, how do you deal with the issue of standing water? Water that has been sitting for too long can develop harmful bacteria and other hindrances, making it less effective or entirely unusable for your household needs.

Therefore, our team at RWS developed the Auto-Flush Controller to simplify things. Our system controller determines how much water you need to flush depending on how long the water has been standing. Essentially, it converts a traditional wet system to a dry system, making use of the rainwater you’ve collected.

How It Works

The controller keeps your water clean, but how does it work? The first thing our controller does is a first flush. We’ve programmed the controller to monitor rain patterns and the weather, meaning it knows when to do a first flush that eliminates standing water in the pipes, significantly improving water quality. Additionally, we’ve programmed an automatic shutoff feature to prevent the entire tank from draining.

Our Auto-Flush Controller will also learn how you use water and adapt to your usage patterns. Everyone uses water differently, and we want your rainwater collection system to work for you. With this ability to see how you use water and understand how rain patterns change, it can support you and your household for years to come.

Batch Detention

We’ve also adapted our Auto-Flush Controller to assist in batch detention. Batch detention is a way to remove particulate pollutants in water supplies, and our controller knows when to open and drain the pond. RWS’ Auto-Flush Controller keeps the pond valve closed, but after detecting 1.5” of rain in the pond, it starts a 12-hour timer that will open the valve upon completion. After draining the pond, the sensor will detect no water and then fully close after two hours. Then, the cycle repeats to ensure the pond doesn’t get out of control.

These new technologies that RWS brings to rainwater collection make rainwater collection easier and more efficient. We’re here to offer you an effective and eco-friendly solution to meet your household needs, but that’s not the only thing our rainwater collection systems can do. RWS can supply you and your property with fire protection water storage tanks in addition to standard household storage so that you will have a reliable water supply in case of a fire.
